Rainbow Destructor – Chapter 12: Blue

Ah!

When Mikka’s eyes opened, she immediately saw a flurry of action all around her. She was in the middle of some sort of battle, but her mind couldn’t spring into consciousness fast enough to register it.

She was…

She was in an ocean, blue all the way the eyes could see.

She wasn’t dead, so she was wearing a suit. Okay.

There was… wait.

The rest of her crew was here.

And they were fighting the squid-like monster.

Didn’t they do this already? And why was the ocean blue if it was made of ammonia?

Everyone darted back and forth, trying to contain its tentacles as they thrashed about, and all Mikka could do is float there and stare. Where was she… where was she… oh!

she saw Dr. Yammoh’s suit, the woman holding the electric harpoon that was vital to everyone not dying. Expensive, but very useful in situations like these.

“What are you doing?” She shouted at Yammoh. “Get your ass over here and paralyze this thing!”

She was fumbling around with it, just like last time. What a weird dream this was. Usually dreams kinda changed things around, right?

“Take the shot!”

“I’m… I’m trying!”

At this moment, a tentacle slammed into her chest, knocking her backwards and sending the harpoon flying wildly into the swirling vortex that this creature had created with its trashing.

But… the harpoon launched at just the right angle, hit the monster right in its massive eyes, and knocked it out.

The thrashing calmed, and soon stopped.

Well, that was–

A voice boomed. “YOU LET IT HAPPEN AS IT WAS. YOU DID NOT SUCCEED.”

“Eh? Huh?”

“DO IT AGAIN.”

There was a flash, and when Mikka next came to…

She immediately saw a flurry of action all around her. She was in the middle of some sort of battle, but her mind couldn’t spring into consciousness fast enough to register it.
